Home Remedy for Earaches

I'm not a doctor of course, but my husband got this idea from his family doc the last time he had an ear infection.  It relieves the pain but will not cure an infection.

Every time I have tried it for an earache, it has worked beautifully.

Yesterday I had a terrible earache after going swimming.  It felt like there was water in there that just refused to get out!

So I did this:

1.  Mix equal parts vinegar and cold water (I used apple cider vinegar but white will also work).

2.  Lean head to other side and pour about a T full of it directly into affected ear.

3.  Quickly bring a washcloth or towel to affected ear and tilt so that all liquid drains out.

4.  Rest, bad ear down, on your side for at least 10 minutes.

Viola!  No more earache!  My ear feels fine today!

If pain persists or returns, see your doctor.  An ear infectin if left alone can cause deafness.  I once even heard of a king who died from an ear infection!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Love the tip about the vinegar. I'll have to keep that in mind as the summer has finally arrived here and we'll be at the pool as much as my kids can tolerate.
